Garden Host at the San Diego County Fair


As a volunteer Garden Host at our exhibit during the San Diego County Fair, you are part of our biggest outreach to the San Diego Community. For a few hours, you will answer questions about our exhibit, water conservation, the Horticultural Society and get free entry to the Fair.

  • You must be a San Diego Horticultural Society member.
  • You may sign up for multiple shifts.
  • If you use an online calendar, when you register as a volunteer, use the Add to my calendar button in the upper right of this page to add the event to your calendar.  (Be sure and complete the registration by using the Register button to the left too!)
  • You are responsible for your own transportation to and parking at the Fair.  More information about parking is available at: Fair Parking
  • You must attend the training session at our exhibit on Friday, June 7th at 1:30 to 2:30 and/or read volunteer instructions. Volunteer instructions 
  • Your shift tickets are available at the Will Call desk at the main entrance gate (also known as the O'Brien gate) to the Fairgrounds
