Panel Discussion
Trends in Contemporary Landscape Design

Join us as a panel of three award-winning San Diego landscape designers presents the latest innovations in landscape design. Moderated by landscape designer and SDHS board member Susanna Pagan, the panel will explore new approaches, new materials and new plants being used to create beautiful gardens. Panel members Kendra Berger of Revive Landscape Design, Ryan Prange of Falling Waters Landscape and Kate Wiseman of Sage Outdoor Designs will illustrate their presentations with examples of gardens they have created around the county. Garden design is changing and as this discussion will show, many of the innovations are happening here. Bring your questions!

Kendra Berger is an award winning landscape designer, certified Arborist, and SDHS sponsor with over 10 years experience in the landscape design industry.

In 2006, Kendra started Revive Landscape Design, where she is the visionary, designer, supervisor and primary contact for all clients.  Since opening the doors to Revive, Kendra’s work has been recognized in national magazines such as Sunset and Better Homes & Gardens, as well as many local publications.

Kendra works in collaboration with other industry experts such as Architects, engineers, and interior designers to create one-of-a-kind unique spaces for her clients. She also works closely with landscape contractors during the installation phase of her projects, which has given her in-depth knowledge of the construction and installation aspect of landscaping.

Kendra is passionate about transforming her clients’ outdoor spaces into an inspirational and integral part of their home life. Her outdoor environments are unique to each client, fully functional, and eco-friendly.

Falling Waters

Ryan Prange, Landscape Designer and Contractor founded Falling Waters Landscape in the spring of 2007, after 7 years of supervising operations at his father’s Landscape Maintenance Company, R.B. Prange Inc. With an extensive background in hand-drawing, multi-media art, and painting - and years of Horticulture study, both in the field and in the classroom - Ryan combined his love for nature and art and began creating gardens.

Ryan is certified by the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD), a member of the California Landscape Contractor's Association (CLCA) and hold's an associate degree in Landscape Architecture from Mira Costa College.

Falling Waters Landscape, Inc. projects range from show gardens to extensive estate properties. We operate out of a studio space in coastal Encinitas, CA and offers design services and management services throughout the United States. Construction and maintenance services are offered throughout San Diego, CA.

Kate Wiseman is the Principal of Sage Outdoor Designs. She has been designing personalized residential landscapes in San Diego for the past twelve years.

Kate carries a Bachelor's degree in Botany from the University of California at Berkeley and a Masters of Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona's school of Environmental Design.

Her designs have been published both locally and nationally, and have been recognized in San Diego Home and Garden Lifestyles Magazine's 'Gardens of the Year' contest four times, including the grand prize winning design in 2007.
